Who doesn't love all the cute succulents and cacti? With so may varieties how can you not buy several. I have found myself buying so many lately. I would buy them and leave them in their little black pots just sitting. I came across this adorable and very affordable pot DIY on my favorite blog http://www.abeautifulmess.com/ . My friend Cris and I got together the other weekend to make these cute sleeping pots. So lets do a DIY!
What you will need
Soil: Cactus soil is very important. It is more sandy therefore, it drains quicker so your plants will not rot. Lowes carries this soil.
Spray paint: I would suggest a paint with primer for ultimate coverage.
Pot: terracotta pots are very cheap and is perfect for this project
Paint: Just some craft paint for your pots cute face.
Paint Brush: I would suggest a thin angle brush. This brush will be easier for those details.
Plant: The best part, pick out the cutest plant that just screams YOU.

Step one: First we have to spray paint to pot. Go to a open space, outside away from other objects. We placed our pot in a box to somewhat contain the spray paint and make it easier for the pot to dry, and keep grass off of it. Begin to cover your pot. We did two coats of spray paint, but this will depend on what kind of spray paint you bought. Once coated let it dry for the amount of time stated on the back of your can of paint.
Step two:
Get that paint ready! Once your pot has dried, it's time for the fun part. Let's give that pot some life. Now we did the sleeping pot, but you can do any face you want. It's really simple, an arch for the eyes, eyelashes and a cute smile.
Step three:
Once the face has dried it's time to give your pot some hair. Fill the bottom with a thin liner of soil and place plant. Fill the around the sides and top to secure to pot. Make sure your plant is not wobbly but secure.

All done!
Now your succulent has a home and some character. Easy, cheap, and cute. Enjoy!
